Choosing your shutters
Which shutter style is best for my windows?
It depends on the shape of your windows, privacy needs and the look you’d like to achieve. Explore our Shutter Styles page for full-height, café-style, tier-on-tier, solid panel, tracked and shaped options.
Can shutters be fitted to bay windows?
Yes. Many bay windows can be fitted with made-to-measure shutters. We will assess the shape and configuration when we measure.
Are shutters suitable for bathrooms and kitchens?
Yes. We offer water-resistant shutter ranges designed for moisture-prone spaces. We’ll advise on a suitable material for your room.
Colours & finishes
Can I have shutters in a custom colour?
Selected ranges can be custom colour matched, including to RAL K7 colours. See our Finishing Touches page for more ways to personalise your shutters.
What’s the difference between wooden and waterproof shutters?
Wooden shutters offer a natural material and a choice of painted or stained finishes. Waterproof or water-resistant ranges are designed for rooms with higher humidity. We can help you compare the options.
Can I choose the louvre width?
Yes. Depending on the range, options include 47, 63, 76, 89 and 114 mm. The size you choose affects the overall appearance and view through the shutter.

Do you offer a free measuring service?
Yes. We offer a free measure and quotation so we can advise on the right configuration for your windows.
Do you supply and fit shutters?
Yes. Our service includes professional measuring and installation.
How long does installation take?
That depends on the number of windows, their size and the complexity of the fitting. We’ll explain what to expect when arranging your installation.
Ordering & lead times
How long do made-to-measure shutters take to arrive?
Lead times depend on the range and specification. We’ll confirm the current estimated lead time with your quotation.
How much do shutters cost?
Prices depend on window measurements, shutter style, material and finishing options. We provide a tailored quotation after discussing your requirements.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
We’ll explain the payment arrangements when we provide your quotation, before you place an order.
Practical questions
Can shutters help with insulation?
Shutters add another layer at the window and may help reduce heat loss, depending on the window and installation.
Can I have blackout blinds behind my shutters?
Yes. Selected ranges offer a Shutter & Shade system with a honeycomb blind behind the shutters to reduce light bleed. Find out more on our Finishing Touches page.
Are shutters easy to clean?
Generally, yes. Regular light dusting with a soft cloth or duster is usually enough. Cleaning guidance may vary by material and finish.
